- IoT (Internet of Things) — everyday objects connected to the internet. Your bag could message your parents when it arrives at school. Smart thermostats learn when you wake up.
- Embedded system — a tiny computer built inside a device for one specific job. The computer in a microwave (only controls heating) or car brakes (ABS system) are embedded systems.
- Edge computing — instead of sending all IoT data to a distant cloud, process it locally on the device. Faster, uses less internet bandwidth.
